"I found this photograph from long ago, in which five men posed outside of a paint store, afterwards signing their names over their heads in pencil. One can frequently find vintage white ceramic pipes in junk shops, or if you are lucky, as we have been, in local stream beds near places where people met and smoked. This pipe, broken and repaired, seems to add to the story of these men who are gathered here, as did these two coins."
