The scrunch of melting snow yielding under our boots; the late afternoon sunlight enveloping the world in a dewy haze, providing warmth and nourishment for flora, fauna, and man alike; the fragrance of newborn blossoms emerging from their slumber to meet the world afresh, offering visual beauty and emotional comfort. These are the sensations of spring, the tangible impressions that greet us each year and usher in a time of rejuvenation for both Nature and the soul. In our exhibition, we’ve selected over 20 examples from the gallery’s traditional and contemporary artists that embody the season. Sensations of Spring is viewable on our website through May 18th, 2021.

For more than thirty years, Fred Rogers captivated and delighted children as the host of the beloved television series, “Mister Roger’s Neighborhood.” Mister Rogers became a cultural touchstone, known to generations of PBS viewers for his calm, patient and inclusive attitude toward children and the community at large. We were inspired by the recent release of Morgan Neville’s documentary “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” to spotlight scenes of daily neighborhood activity from our inventory. The locales included in this exhibition vary widely, yet they share narrative undertones of ordinary people coexisting in a shared space, each performing small acts of uncomplicated compassion. We are pleased to present over 30 neighborhood and community scenes as part of our newest exhibition, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.
On exhibition January 12, 2019 - March 2, 2019
We are pleased to announce our newest online exhibition, Indefatigable Spirit: The American Work Ethic. We hope that this selection from our inventory will be motivating and reinvigorating for the New Year. Here, we have chosen to focus on the American worker, including subjects from fishermen managing the day’s haul, to farmers toiling in their fields, to carpenters and to shoe-shiners. Each painting illustrates the hard work and can-do attitude on which Americans have prided themselves on for generations, capturing moments of daily life from different eras in American history. The people, and the environments in which they labor, illustrate the march of progress and encapsulate the American will to succeed. We hope this year brings you success and luck in all of your ventures, and hope you find some small amount of inspiration in this collection of American works of art.

We are pleased to announce our major fall exhibition Human/Nature, featuring over 50 paintings by notable American artists. In this exhibition we’ve chosen to focus on artists’ experiences of the natural world versus the human world and ascertain the lines where these two worlds converge. Each painting exists along a spectrum between the two poles and in deciding where these paintings fall, we’ve relied primarily on the power dynamic within the painting. To what extent are the human inhabitants of each painting in command of their surroundings? On one end are wild, uninhabited landscapes. As we move toward the human side of the spectrum, there is little or no reference to nature.
On exhibition November 3, 2018 - January 1, 2019

“I’m most interested in the relationship of colors, the relationship of shapes, and the relationship of textures, and how they contribute to the order of the whole composition.”
