"Our gallery has represented the Walter Farndon estate since 1991, and we have held six exhibitions of his work. His paintings have been collected by hundreds of clients, making him one of our most popular artists. What appeals to me most about his paintings is his handling of light at different times of the day and night. Using a palette of eight pigments, he applies robust brush strokes and heavy impasto to his canvas, so characteristic of the early Impressionists. Moonlight on Shore showcases his mastery of invoking the eerie veil of moonlight over the entire canvas."
