This vibrant painting reveals the artist’s talent for portraying the unique character of the Maine shoreline and his love for all regions of his native New England. Allen kept a studio at Ogunquit for a time and was a member of the Ogunquit Art Association, but he also explored coves and fishing villages from Cape Neddick to Boothbay Harbor and may also have ventured as far north as Eastport.
