Around 1906, Helen and Frank DuMond settled in Old Lyme, Connecticut, where he directed the Summer School of Painting and continued teaching in New York. Helen began producing her brightly colored plein air landscapes, and joined the National Arts Club, the Art Workers Club and the Catherine Wolfe Art Club.
