"Behind our home, across the train tracks and through the field that leads down to the Great Salt Bay, there is a portion of the clay bank that occasionally yields its buried treasure of a century ago. Among the finds we have made are many copper, brass, and silver spoons, tarnished by the years and salt water, leaving them wearing wonderful oxidized patinas. I chose four of them and placed them in this small rusted pitcher, colorful actors on the ‘stage’ of an old aqua book."
