"Just outside the large window of my studio is the first of three very old apple trees from which I picked this apple, along with a small portion of its supportive stem with its leaves. I decided to place it on an old book of short stories, and set these on a box of similar Cerulean blue. I enjoyed studying the patterns on the apple and the feathery softness of the leaves' veined underside, glanced by the morning sunlight."
