Liz Haywood-Sullivan: "Created last spring during a difficult time in Boston, this stand of trees is outside my back door. I didn’t dare venture any further at the time. This is a good reminder, however, that you don’t need travel to find beauty and inspiration to paint, it can be right under your nose. Working en plein air, direct from nature, creates a dialog between artist and subject that mutes the greater world and allows you to exist in a sacred creative space, even if for just a short while."
