Painted in 1892, Inner Harbor, New Castle, New Hampshire shows the scenic coastal community from the vantage point of River Road, with the numerous chimneys of the Curtis Hotel, now long gone, rising above the trees near the center. His fine coloring and attention to detail in rendering the topography, houses and the figures walking near the shoreline exemplify the careful scrutiny he had practiced during his time as a surveyor. This work is framed with a period frame, possibly the original.
