Since the founding of Vose Galleries in 1841, the Vose family has amassed over 300 years of experience in the art world, and has handled more than 37,000 American paintings, including over 25 artists' estates. Vose Galleries specializes in top quality 18th, 19th and early 20th century American realist paintings and works on paper. Passed down through six generations from father to son- now daughters, Vose is the oldest family-owned art gallery in America, and has established a reputation for expertise in the history, acquisition and valuation of American art. Vose paintings hang in over 150 museums nationwide.

Vose's Historic Gallery Space

We invite you to visit our Newbury Street brownstone, where you will find the largest inventory of American realist paintings in New England. All five floors are devoted to the display of fine art, including living and dining rooms furnished with antiques to provide a home-like setting for viewing works of art.

Gary Milek: Golden Threads

Vose Galleries is pleased to showcase Golden Threads, a much-anticipated third solo show of works by acclaimed artist Gary Milek. The exhibition highlights Gary's artistic practice of intertwining the ancient mediums of egg tempera and gold leaf. Featuring over 15 examples of the artist's intimate florals woven together with his gilded mountain landscapes, Golden Threads will be on view online and in the gallery from April 18th through May 30th.

Force of Nature: Karl Schrag in Maine

 

This spring, Vose Galleries is pleased to work with the estate of artist Karl Schrag to present Force of Nature: Karl Schrag in Maine, a selection of over thirty paintings showcasing the artist's unique and captivating efforts to portray the forces of nature at work. The exhibition will be on view online and in the gallery May 16th - June 27th.
